XMMS overview

XMMS is a Audio tool. You can launch it on Linux. XMMS for Linux can be found on official sources.

XMMS is mainly used for working with .DSM files. Other XMMS supported file formats besides .DSM are .M3U, .M3U8, .MOD, .MPC, .OGX, .PSFLIB, .SPX, .TTA, .WAV, .AAC, .CMF, .LA, .MINIPSF, .MO3, .NSF, .OFR, .PSF, .PSF1, .PSF2, .PSFLIB2, .SHN, .WV.

There are two ways of opening .DSM files with XMMS:

  1. By double-clicking on .DSM file (or any other supported file) with left click mouse button. If XMMS is properly installed on your computer, the file will open successfully.
  2. By opening .DSM through the XMMS menu. To open the menu, launch XMMS, find the menu button and follow the instructions.
