You can open .AI and other files with GIMP in two ways:

1. You can double-click on .AI file (or any other supported file) with left click mouse button. If GIMP is properly installed on your computer, the file will open successfully.
2. By opening .AI through the GIMP menu. To open the menu, launch GIMP, find the menu button and follow the instructions.
