GNU Make is mainly used for working with .MAKEFILE files. Other GNU Make supported filename extensions besides .MAKEFILE are .MK.
There are two ways of opening .MAKEFILE files with GNU Make:
- By double-clicking on .MAKEFILE file (or any other file of supported format) with left click mouse button. If you have installed GNU Make on your Windows or Mac, the file will open successfully.
- You can open .MAKEFILE file from the GNU Make menu. To open the menu, launch GNU Make, find the menu button and follow the instructions.
