VMware Fusion overview
VMware Fusion is a System tool. It is available on various platforms, including Mac. VMware Fusion for Mac can be found on respective stores.
VMware Fusion supported file formats include .VMDK and other formats of similar type. Other VMware Fusion supported filename extensions besides .VMDK are .VMDK-CONVERTTMP, .VMSN, .VMTM, .VMWAREVM, .VMX, .VMXF, .VPC6, .VPC7, .EXE, .FLP, .ISO, .OVA, .OVF, .PVM.
You can open .VMDK and other files with VMware Fusion in two ways:
- You can double-click on .VMDK file (or any other supported file) with left click mouse button. If you have installed VMware Fusion on your Mac, the file will open successfully.
- You can open .VMDK file from the VMware Fusion menu. To open the menu, launch VMware Fusion, find the menu button and follow the instructions.
