KiCad overview

KiCad is a Productivity tool. You can open it on Windows, Mac, and Linux. KiCad for Windows, Mac, and Linux can be found on respective sources.

KiCad supported file formats include .BRD and other formats of similar type. Other KiCad supported file formats besides .BRD are .SCH.

You can open .BRD and other files with KiCad in two ways:

1. By double-clicking on .BRD file (or any other file of supported format) with left click mouse button. If you have installed KiCad on your Windows or Mac, the file will open successfully.
2. By opening .BRD from the KiCad menu. The menu button can be found on KiCad dashboard.
