FreeCAD overview

FreeCAD is a Graphics program. You can launch it on Windows, Mac, and Linux. FreeCAD for Windows, Mac, and Linux can be found on official stores.

FreeCAD is mainly used for working with .DAE files. Other FreeCAD supported filename extensions besides .DAE are .DXF, .IFC, .IGES, .IGS, .OBJ, .PRT, .SCAD, .SLDPRT, .STEP, .STL, .STP, .SVG, .VRML, .FCSTD.

There are two ways of opening .DAE files with FreeCAD:

  1. You can double-click on .DAE file (or any other file of supported format) with left click mouse button. If you have installed FreeCAD on your Windows or Mac, the file will open successfully.
  2. By opening .DAE through the FreeCAD menu. To open the menu, launch FreeCAD, find the menu button and follow the instructions.
Additional information on FreeCAD latest version, its price, system requirements for various operating systems can be found on FreeCAD official page. If you’re looking for .DAE file editor/reader free download, please don’t try to download FreeCAD torrent file, as it may cause damage to your device. To decide whether you need this .DAE file launcher, we’d recommend downloading a FreeCAD frее trial version, if there is one on its official page.
