Google Earth overview

Google Earth is a Scientific program. You can launch it on Windows, Mac, and Linux. Google Earth for Windows, Mac, and Linux can be found on respective stores.

Google Earth is mainly used for working with .GPX files. Other Google Earth supported filename extensions besides .GPX are .KML, .KMZ, .ETA.

There are two ways of opening .GPX files with Google Earth:

  1. By double-clicking on .GPX file (or any other supported file) with left click mouse button. If you have installed Google Earth on your Windows or Mac, the file will open successfully.
  2. By opening .GPX through the Google Earth menu. The menu button can be found on Google Earth dashboard.
