BRL-CAD overview

BRL-CAD is a Graphics tool. You can open it on Windows, Mac, and Linux. BRL-CAD for Windows, Mac, and Linux can be found on official stores.

BRL-CAD operates with .DXF files. Other BRL-CAD supported filename extensions besides .DXF are .IGES, .NAS, .PDF, .PIX, .PL, .RLE, .VRML.

There are two ways of opening .DXF files with BRL-CAD:

1. By double-clicking on .DXF file (or any other file of supported format) with left click mouse button. If you have installed BRL-CAD on your Windows or Mac, the file will open successfully.
2. By opening .DXF through the BRL-CAD menu. To open the menu, launch BRL-CAD, find the menu button and follow the instructions.
